Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung attended a reception Sept. 17 in Rome ahead of the U-Theatre performance at Romaeuropa Festival 2025.

The MOFA and the Ministry of Culture’s joint initiative, Taiwan Culture in Europe 2025, offers cultural exchange through architecture, film, literature, music, performing and visual arts, as part of an insight into Taiwan’s creativity, Lin noted.

The minister stated that as a major event in the year-long initiative, New Taipei City-based U-Theatre’s performance of “Sword of Wisdom” displayed perseverance and resilience through the piece’s integration of dancing, drumming and martial arts.

Liu Ruo-yu, founder of U-Theatre and Guido Fabiani, president of the Romaeuropa Foundation both attended the reception. Fabiani committed to continue undertaking cultural exchange with Taiwan regardless of any intervention from China.

The MOFA stated that it would leverage soft power to deepen ties with European countries and other fellow democracies. (POC-E)
